1 |
This tournament is sanctioned by the
Council of the LTA and will be conducted under the present rules of Lawn
Tennis and the Rules and Regulations of the LTA |
|
|
|
2 |
Competitors in all events must NOT have
attained the age limit on 31st December 2004. |
|
|
|
3 |
A competitor may enter for two singles
events; one doubles event and one mixed doubles event. |
|
|
|
4 |
Under 16; 14; 12 and 10 competitors may
enter events of the age group above their own. |
|
|
|
5 |
Entries should reach the Entries
Secretary not later than first post Wednesday 27th July 2005
and should enclose correct entrance fees. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE
ACCEPTED, NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN BY TELEPHONE AND NO ENTRIES WILL BE
TAKEN AT THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE TOURNAMENT. |

Entries will be limited and will be
accepted in order of receipt, provided that they are accompanied by the
correct monies and they follow the conditions of entry. |

7 |
All matches, other than those in the
Under 10's event, will be knock-out and the best of three advantage
sets. The tie break system will be used in all sets. The U10 events
will be short sets [see Appendix 1] |

|
8 |
Competitors shall not wear shoes or boots
other than those without heels and with rubber soles, except with the
express permission of the Referee. Clothing to be predominantly white. |
|
|
|
9 |
Competitors must umpire when requested to
do so. |
|
|
|
10 |
Play will commence at the times specified
and competitors must sign the attendance sheet on arrival. They must
not leave the ground without permission of the Referee. Absentees will
be disqualified. ANY PLAYER NOT ATTENDING WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF STARTING
TIMES WILL BE SCRATCHED AT THE REFEREES DISCRETION. The Referee's
decision is final. Players are requested to ascertain what time they
will be required to play the next match BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE GROUND. |

11 |
The Committee reserves the right to alter
any condition or to modify the programme [subject to compliance in all
cases with LTA rules & regulations] in any way they may deem desirable
and to reject any entry without giving any reason. |

12 |
No complaints in connection with the
Tournament can be entertained by the Committee unless made in writing
and lodged with the Secretary of the Tournament within 48 hours of the
occurrence of the cause of the same, and no application for leave of
appeal against any decision of the Committee can be entertained by the
LTA Council unless made in writing and lodged with the Secretary of the
Association, West Kensington, W14 9EG within 10 days after receipt of
such decision by the complainant. |

13 |
In accordance with Regulation 11 of the
LTA any competitor who has not paid their entry fee will not be allowed
on court. |
|
|
|
14 |
All winners will be responsible for
engraving trophies won and returning them to the organiser in good time. |
|
|
|
15 |
Competitors entering 'Partner wanted'
will receive a refund if a partner cannot be found on application to the
Secretary enclosing a SAE within 14 days. |
|
|
|
16 |
Competitors in all singles events must be
members of the LTA Registered Membership Scheme and provide their
membership card on request. |
|
|
|
17 |
Persons who enter the Tournament or play
in a match do so at their own risk and there can be no claim against the
organisers for any injury they may sustain unless the organisers have
been guilty of negligence. |
|
|
|
18 |
Losers of matches played on Monday and
Tuesday may sign up for one optional plate event which will start on
Wednesday afternoon. Competitors in events with 16 or less entries will
be put in a ‘2 way draw’ requiring winners AND LOSERS to play up to 4
matches. |

Appendix 1 |
|
|
|
|
Under 10 matches will be the best of
three sets; the first two sets being won by the first player to win 4
games with a 2 game margin. If the score is 4 games all, a tie break
will be played. If the score is one set all, a tie break game shall
decide the match. |
