This tournament is sanctioned by the
Council of the LTA and will be conducted under the present rules of Lawn
Tennis and the Rules and Regulations of the LTA |

Entries close first post
Saturday 6th
August 2005 and should be
addressed to the Entries Secretary, enclosing entrance fees. The draw
will take place on Wednesday 10th August. It would
greatly assist the Entries Secretary if entries are sent in before this
date. |

3 |
In all events the matches will be the
best of three advantage sets. The Tie-Break system will be used in all
three sets. |
|
|
|
4 |
No shoes or boots other than those
without heels and with rubber soles shall be worn by competitors, except
with the express permission of the Referee. Clothing to be
predominantly white. |
|
|
|
5 |
The Committee reserves the right to see
the draw in accordance with Regulation 24 of the LTA. |
|
|
|
6 |
Play will commence at 11:00am each day.
Absentees will be disqualified. |
|
|
|
|
Any players not attending within 30
minutes of starting times may be scratched at the referee's discretion. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Players are asked to check with the
referee what time they will be required the next match before leaving
the ground |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Leave of absence can only be granted by
the referee. He will also assess the playing standard of a competitor
where information on the entry form is insufficient. His decision is
final. |

7 |
The Committee reserves the power to alter
any condition or to modify the programme (subject to compliance in all
cases with the LTA Rules & Regulations) in any way they may deem
desirable, and to reject any entry without assigning any reason.

|
|
8 |
No complaints in connection with the
Tournament can be entertained by the Committee unless made in writing
and lodged with the Secretary of the Tournament within 48 hours of the
occurrence of the cause of the same, and no application for leave of
appeal against any decision of the Committee can be entertained by the
LTA Council unless made in writing and lodged with the Secretary of the
Association, West Kensington, W14 9EG within 10 days after receipt of
such decision by the complainant. |

In accordance with Regulation 11 of the
LTA any competitor who has not paid their entry fee will not be allowed
on court. |
|
|

10 |
All winners will be responsible for
engraving and returning trophies won. |
|
|
|
11 |
Competitors entering Open, Veteran and
Handicap Events may be required to withdraw from the Handicap Events at
the discretion of the Referee. |
|
|
|
12 |
Competitors in open and Somerset Closed
singles events shall be members of the LTA Registered Membership Scheme,
and must produce their membership card on request.(Exc Vets) |
|
|
|
13 |
Any person who enters for the Tournament
or plays in a match does so at their own risk and there can be no claim
against the organisers for any injury they may sustain unless the
organisers have been guilty of negligence. |
|
|
|
14 |
If sufficient entries are received for
each Veteran Event, these will be split into separate age groups ie: for
men / 45-54; and over 55 and for ladies 40-49 and over 50. However, if
there are only enough entries for one age group, the usual handicapping
system will apply ie: one point/set for every two years difference in
age (average ages in the case of doubles) capped at 70 years. |
