Healthy Minds

Having a healthy mind is just as important as having a healthy body.

The benefits of exercise go beyond just improving our physical well-being. Exercise is a natural and effective way to help improve our mental well-being too! Here are some ways that physical activity impacts our mental health:

  • Stress & Anxiety: Regular exercise can help reduce levels of stress and anxiety in people suffering from mild symptoms of mental health issues. Each time we exercise, our body releases endorphins, which help reduce stress and enhance our overall emotional well-being.
  • Sleep: Exercise can even help to regulate your sleeping patterns. Whether you prefer short bursts of HIIT or relaxing exercises such as yoga or gentle stretching, all exercise can help to promote sleep.
  • More Energy: Studies show that regular exercise can dramatically increase your energy levels. When feeling tired, we assume physical activity will make us feel worse; however, exercise is a powerful energizer and reduces the feeling of fatigue.
  • Social: Another great benefit of exercise is an improved social life. Coming along to group classes, meeting new people and a new social outlet. It’s also great to train with a buddy to help keep you motivated!
  • Higher Self Esteem: Regular exercising is an investment in our bodies and our minds. Sometimes low self-esteem is tied to body perception. Setting goals and seeing results can significantly improve our confidence and help us feel better about ourselves.

Fitness is so much more than just taking care of our bodies and working on appearance. It’s also about taking care of our mental health and working on our mindsets.
