Why a cheat meal is good for you

Many people believe that when you start eating ‘clean’ or ‘healthier’, you must do this 100% of the time. However, this is not the case. We believe you should keep to a 90/10 ratio (90% good and 10% bad). If you consume cheat meals this way, you will not derail your goals.

Having a cheat meal will help boost your leptin hormone which will help your body to continue burning fat. Understandably it is hard to keep a healthy lifestyle 24/7 so having a cheat meal occasionally won’t hurt at all. It is challenging to keep to a set clean diet, so a little junk food will help your mental game.

Many people mistake a cheat meal for a cheat day. Cheat meals are meant to satisfy your taste buds not full your belly up till you pop. If you stick to the 90/10 rule, you will not fall off the rail, and most importantly you will stay sane. Knowing that you have a cheat meal around the corner will help with your motivation and keep you focused on your goals.
